Tom is an Emmy nominated journalist turned filmmaker. He spent the first part of his life with the British military, his job was to evacuate the injured from Afghanistan’s most ferocious battlefields. After this he moved into the BBC’s World Affairs Unit where he filmed the plight of those left in Afghanistan after the troops had left, he worked undercover to find the stories of British Jihadists fighting in Syria and followed the migration crisis as it swept across Europe. Tom was on Everest during the 2015 earthquake, after escaping from camp 1, lucky to be alive, Tom returned among aftershocks to find the families of the Sherpas who had been killed on the mountain. This began a love for the human story behind adventure, which is the predominant focus in his work. Tom is also an On-Board-Reporter for the Volvo Ocean Race and specialises in making documentaries in the world’s most inhospitable regions.
